Database of the geologically documented objects in the Czech Republic

This application enables the user to buy his selected data from the database of the geologically documented objects of the Czech Republic (scil. borehole database) managed by the Czech Geological Survey using credit on his account.

An unregistered user can get free basic meta-information on the geologically documented object (i.e. the reference ID of the object/borehole, archive number of the report, original title, depth, year, information on the existence of geological profile). A registered user can obtain complete information including the geological profile of the borehole or a set of hydrogeological data from the borehole (object).

The database covers the territory of the Czech Republic and contains information on about 744 000 documented objects including 626 thousands borehole profiles and 122 000 hydrogeological records.
You can search for the required objects using:

• Search in database the search form by entering attributes

How do I get a credit account for purchase of the data?

If you do not have an account, please contact the department of data services of the Czech Geological Survey. This can be done directly through the Form on this website. For more information on the data provision, see the section on provision of geological data on the Portal of the Czech Geological Survey. To purchase credit and register for the application, you can now use our eSHOP.

You register for the eSHOP separately, but if you already have access to the GDO application or ASGI browser, please use the same email when filling out and registering in the eSHOP. Access data for the GDO and ASGI applications will be sent to your email after payment in the eSHOP, you will also receive an invoice by email. The response between paying the amount through our eSHOP and increasing the credit may take 1-2 business days, the system is still being tuned and the process is being automated gradually.

What are the pricing conditions?

What information is contained in the provided data and in what format is the data provided?

Data are provided as a text file on the application page, PDF document and also in the XML format according to the international standard based on the eEarth project , run in 2006-2008 by the geological surveys of the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania. The XML format uses the XML Schema language and is suported by the XSD file. PDF document contains a QR-code which is usefull for backward digitalization of the document source after it's printing.
