Abstract
Stratigraphic variations in magnetic susceptibility (MS) have been studied in a 50 m thick sequence in the Požáry 1 Quarry near Praha-Řeporyje. It comprises the topmost part of the Kopanina Formation (Ludlow), entire thickness of the Požáry Formation (the uppermost Ludlow to the lowermost Lochkovian) and the basal part of the Lochkov Formation (Lochkovian). Magnetic susceptibility log is characterized by a gradual growth in MS values which reflects increased input of terrigeneous material caused by gradual sea-level fall.
