Carbon isotopic composition of graphite the granulite complex of southern Bohemia
Abstract
Carbon isotopic composition of graphite was determined in five samples of three rock-types from granulite massifs of southern Bohemia (graphite content in the samples between 30 and 0.1 vol. %). The S13C values of graphite-rich rocks from Nebahovy are in the range from -18.3 to -19.3 %o. Felsic granulite from Smědeč showed S13C data of graphite of -26.2 ± 0.5 %c. The S13C data of graphite-rich rocks from Nebahovy are slightly higher than is the range of graphite in gneisses and quartzites of adjacent metasedimentary rocks of the Varied Group of the Moldanubian complex. The S13C of accessory graphite from felsic granulite from Smědeč are within the range of these metasedimentary rocks
