Abstract
Twenty six quantitative tracer tests were summarized based on studies performed in various karst areas in the Czech Republic: Crystalline carbonates, high-grade Devonian limestones, Cretaceous marlstones and limestones. Mean flow velocity in particular karst areas vary between 0.1 to 12 km/day. Longitudinal hydrodynamic dispersion coefficient varies between 0.03 and 1.2m2/s. This demonstrates that potential pollutant may travel via whole karst spring catchment within few days.
