Application of gamma-ray spectrometry and RFA method on selected localities of mineral exploration and exploitation of uranium in the Krkonoše National Park area
Abstract
Study of selected rocks samples of phyllites from the selected localities of mineral exploration and exploitation of uranium Harrachov-Rýžoviště and Medvědín situated in Krkonoše-Jizera Crystalline Complex enabled a characterize their petrographical, geochemical and geophysical properties. Volcanosedimentary complex of the predominantly phyllitic rocks was affected both by regional metamorphism during Variscan orogenesis and contact metamorphism due to intrusion of Krkonoše-Jizera granitic massif. The characteristic ore minerals of the latter are pyrite, chalcopyrite, magnetite, ilmenite, galena. Variability in mineral composition of the phyllites results in variable 40 238 232 values of contents of K, U and Th and trace elements measured by RFA method.
