Petrography of the Jizera orthogneiss on the map sheet 03-142 Hejnice

Abstract
Jizera orthogneisses form an important constituent of the Krkonoše-Jizera Crystalline Unit. This study presents new informations based on detailed geological mapping, petrography and mineral analyses. The characteristic minerals are relics of K-feldspar and plagioclase, biotite, muscovite. Biotites and muscovites show compositional variation. Garnet and andalusite occur sporadic in a few samples only.
