New finds of serpulid worms from locality Kaňk - Na Vrších near Kutná Hora in Bohemian Cretaceous Basin
Abstract
The relatively rich assemblage of tube dwelling polychaetes: serpulid (Serpulidae) worms (Polychaeta, Canalipalpata) is reported from the nearshore locality Kaňk - Na Vrších (Upper Cenomanian-Lower Turonian, Kolín area, Bohemian Cretaceous Basin), which was found during field works 2002-2008. Described species was compared with collection of doc. Václav Ziegler, which is deposited in National Museum at Prague. Six taxa are described belonging to four genera: Neovermilia Day, 1961; Dorsoserpula Parsch, 1956; Placostegus Philippi, 1844; and Pyrgopolon De Montfort, 1808. Their taxonomy and palaeoecology is discussed. One species is established as new - Pyrgopolon sp. nov.
