Asterolepis ornata Eichwald, 1840 (Placodermi) in the Czech Geological Survey collections

Abstract
Uniquely preserved antiarch Asterolepis ornate reposited in the collections of the Czech Geological Survey is described. The specimen comes from the upper Givetian sediments of the Lode clay quarry in Latvia. Due to the non-marine environment of the Latvian locality, the presence of "asterolepids" in the Barrandian area is questionable.
