The study of geological-structural characteristics of Prachovice quarry in Železné hory Mts. was focused on the Silurian black graphitic shales with dark grey limestones of the Prachovice Formation and on the Devonian light grey Podol Limestone. The black shales overthrust the light grey limestone to the N direction and form three E-W trending belts. The newly described lithostratigraphic unit of the Prachovice Formation consists of black graphitic shales intercalated by thin-bedded clayey limestones with cephalopods and crinoids.References
