Abstract

In addition to the already described assemblage of trace fossils, the ichnofossil Palaeophycus cf. tubularis Hall, 1847 was found in metamorphosed Lower Palaeozoic phyllites at Tlukačka quarry near Jílové (northern part of the Bohemian Massif, Lugicum area, Krkonoše-Jizerské hory Metamorphic Complex). Also representatives of the ichnogenera Phycodes and Planolites were ascertained. Structures, described previously as Rusophycus isp. and horseshoe-shaped traces represent probably concretional bodies or their imprints, rather than true ichnofossils. The occurrence of Palaeophycus cf. tubularis is not at discrepancy with deep-water character of the ichnoassemblage described by Chlupáč (1997).
