Silicified microbiota of the Neoproterozoic silicites of the Teplá-Barrandian area near the southeast margin of the Landscape Protected Area of Křivoklát in the Czech Republic

Abstract
Neoproterozoic silicites from the Blovice Formation (Kralupy-Zbraslav Group, Teplá-Barrandian Unit) commonly contain microscopic organic remains. Three localities of silicites from the SE margin of the Landscape Protected Area of Křivoklát - Vraní skála, Hudlická skála and Čihadlo localities – have been studied. Thin sections revealed a presence of silicified organic-walled coccoid and filamentous microfossils, most probably derived from the coastal cyanobacterial paleocommunities.
